Rio 2016: Could this be the ultimate way to watch Games?

FORGET your old television, this could be the ultimate way to watch the Olympic Games from Rio, especially if you can't get there.

Seven has partnered with Samsung to deliver 100 hours of live and on demand virtual reality and 360 video.

The catch is you have one of the latest Samsung smart phones and a Samsung Gear VR to watch it in its full glory.

The coverage will be available via the '7Rio VR 2016 app.

Seven says the app will offer up to 100 hours of VR and 360 vision including Opening and Closing Ceremonies, men's basketball, gymnastics, track and field, beach volleyball, diving, boxing and fencing as well as highlight packages of those sports.

Kurt Burnette, of Seven West Media, said the Olympic Games promised to be the largest aggregated audience ever seen across platforms and screens.
