Driver's condition improves after horror Gracemere smash

MONDAY 4PM: THE condition of a driver injured in a horror two-car crash at Gracemere yesterday has improved. 

The man was transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition this morning. 

A hospital spokesperson said the man's condition had this afternoon improved to stable. 

MONDAY 6.30AM: A MAN in his late 50s is fighting for his life after a horror crash in Gracemere yesterday afternoon. 

At 12.30pm, two utes collided on Gavial-Gracemere Rd with one  being pushed into a fence. 

The driver of one of the utes, a 59-year-old man, suffered serious head and back injuries and was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital. 

A 47-year-old woman, who was a passenger of the man's, was not injured. 

The driver of the second ute did not sustain any injuries in the accident. 

Rockhampton Police's Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. 

UPDATE 2.16PM: GAVIAL Gracemere Rd will be closed for several hours following a serious crash this afternoon.

One man has been taken to Rockhampton Hospital following the crash.

Police are on scene and investigating the crash.

BREAKING 12.50PM: TWO vehicles have collided along the Gavial Gracemere Rd in Gracemere.

The crash which happened at 12.30pm has left one man unconscious but breathing.

Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police Service are on scene now.
