ROLLING COVERAGE: Cancellations, closures due to COVID ban
CANCELLATIONS and closures are being announced across the Fraser Coast after the Prime Minister announced a ban on gatherings over 100 people as the coronavirus crisis continues.
Already Anzac Day commemorations have been cancelled ahead of next month, as well as the annual EATster Street Party.
Other events, such as the Fraser Coast Show and FraserPop remain under a cloud.
Sporting events have also been delayed or cancel as a result of the pandemic.
We will keep you up to date on closures and cancellations throughout the day.
10AM: While the Hervey Bay RSL remains open for business, it has announced that its usual Wednesday bingo event has been cancelled.
"Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," the post read.
10.15AM: The Maryborough RSL has taken to its Facebook page to announce it will stay open for the time being.
"We request that each patron make their own assessment around your personal health and whether to visit us," the post read.
10.20AM: All Parkrun events on the Fraser Coast and across Australia have been cancelled until at least the end of March.
10.25AM: Hervey Bay's Beach House Hotel remains open.
It has enhanced hygiene and cleaning protocols and frequency of cleaning of tables, kiosks, door handles and ATMS.
All cutlery is now rolled with serviettes by staff with gloves.
10.30AM: The Carriers Arms Hotel and the Bayswater Hotel are also operating as usual.
10.35AM: The Kondari Hotel and Old Sydney Hotel are also open for business.
10.40AM: The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre has made a series of announcements regarding cancellations and postponements.
That includes their family fun day, youth arts competition, Romanian Culture Caf, which was set down for April 2, Comfort Kitchen from March 25 to April 8, GetOnline Qld from March 20, Homework Club and the Volunteer Movie Night.
A statement from the centre said hygiene was a priority and proper hand sanitising and hygiene practices were being followed, as well as increasing support over the phone and limiting face to face contact.
11AM: Basketball fixtures have been cancelled at Hervey Bay PCYC.
But the courts will remain open for use.

12.30PM: The Maryborough RSL has announced it has cancelled its Friday, Saturday and Sunday entertainment, bingo on Mondays and trivia on Thursdays.
1PM: As of today, KFC will close its dine-in seating and will only offer a drive thru service to minimise contact between customers and staff.
1.30PM: The Brolga Theatre has cancelled upcoming performances, including the Moscow Ballet's Sleeping Beauty performance of La Classique Sleeping Beauty, Morning Melodies and Sunday Riverside.
The theatre will be closed from today until the end of April.
