Samira's fast food exit reveals MasterChef Top 10
MASTERCHEF'S Top 10 contestants have been decided, with Samira El Khafir narrowly missing out.
El Khafir was eliminated at the end of Fast Food Week after struggling to cook with pork in Wednesday's Huxtable hot dog challenge.
As a Muslim, the 28-year-old has never eaten pork and could not rely on her sense of taste while cooking with the meat.
But it was her decision not to follow chef Daniel Wilson's recipe for the brioche bun that separated her from Daniel Kelty and sent her home.
"I knew what I was getting myself into when I first came here," she said.
"I knew there'd be a chance that I would have to cook with (pork), I was just hoping it was not on elimination day."
On her exit from the MasterChef kitchen, the mum-of-two said it was just the beginning of her food journey.
Despite the women winning the show's "battle of the sexes", the odds are now evenly matched with five women and five men in the Top 10.
MasterChef airs Sundays through Thursdays at 7.30pm on Ten.
