Sandbags a little more exposed by king tide but holding

MORE sand has been washed away from Torquay beach on Thursday morning during the 4.14m king tide.

Although the sandbags are a little more exposed, they appear to be doing their job of protecting the sand built up behind them.

But the Fraser Coast Regional Council's foreshore protection measures are yet to face the highest tide which will be on Friday with a 4.22m king tide at 8.59am.

The sand push will again be tested on the weekend with a 4.18m high at 9.43am on Saturday and a 4.02m king tide at 10.25am on Sunday.
