M'boro sewerage main repair under way after spill

FULL repairs to a sewerage main near Alice St in Maryborough are expected to be completed by the end of the week after a blockage caused it to spill sewage into a creek.

Signs warning people of potential sewage contamination went up at the creek near Sunbury State School on Thursday last week.

A Wide Bay Water spokesman said crews had cleaned up the spill and the affected area at the end of last week.

He said the warning signs would remain up until full repairs to the damaged main were finished.

The spokesman said crews were still monitoring the water for possible continued contamination.
