St Mary’s wins HPV race, sets new record

ST MARY'S College won the most categories at this year's RACQ Technology Challenge, held in the streets of Maryborough at the weekend.

The Synergy team from St Mary's College did 496 laps in 24 hours to bag the overall Human Powered Vehicle Challenge title, breaking the team's own record from last year of 463.

Synergy also won the senior mixed race challenge while Bazinga and Cyclonic from St Mary's College won the junior mixed and senior girls category respectively.

The RACQ Technology Challenge saw 122 teams of school kids put themselves through a physically demanding race.

Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell said it was a highly successful event with a record number of entries this year.

"There was great team spirit, sportsmanship, passion and above all respect for one another."
