X-Factor star Caitlyn Shadbolt to light up the Fraser Coast
IT IS rare for pop-country singer and former X Factor contestant Caitlyn Shadbolt to land a gig so close to home, but the Gympie-born performer will bring her globally heard talents to the Maryborough Sports Club on Saturday night.
The 20-year-old artist showed off her talents on our television screens in 2014 and said she was excited to bring her music back to the Fraser Coast.
"I've done a couple of shows in Maryborough and Bundaberg before," Caitlyn said. "The people are so supportive of live music and touring acts and always come up buy a CD and make an effort."
Caitlyn has recently stepped off the plane after meeting with 25 musicians and songwriters from across the globe for a writing workshop.
Caitlyn will be bringing some of her never-before-heard tracks, which she wrote in Bali, to the sports club this weekend.
"We wrote a bunch of songs together and created some great pieces," she said.
"So I'll be testing those songs out on the crowd."
Caitlyn's show will be backed by a full band, which the artist said would give the gig a fuller sound and feel.
"I hope people have a fun time and see that country music as a genre is so broad and still so great to go and watch," she said.
Caitlyn's performance will kick off at 8pm. Tickets cost $20 and are available for pre-sale or at the door.
Has released a self-titled EP since appearing on X Factor in 2014
