Sunrise's Grant Denyer to broadcast from Fraser Coast

UPDATE: Sunrise TV show weatherman Grant Denyer has extended his visit to the Fraser Coast to four days but has still not included Maryborough on the itinerary.

The Sunrise weather team will visit Hervey Bay and Fraser Island from Tuesday to Friday next week.

The well-known weatherman will kick off the tour broadcasting bulletins from 5am to 7.30am on Tuesday from the foreshore near Aquavue.

EARLIER: The Fraser Coast's recovery from the recent flooding devastation will attract national attention next week when Channel 7's Sunrise morning program broadcasts its weather from some of the region's top tourist attractions.

Popular Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer and his team will broadcast half-hour weather bulletins from the foreshore of Hervey Bay experiencing Aquavue's jet boating and fly boarding on Tuesday, February 12, Fraser Island's famous Maheno Wreck on Wednesday, February 13, and picturesque Pelican Banks on Thursday, February 14.

Tourism Fraser Coast general manager Pip Close said this was just what the region needed in the wake of the flood crisis.

"You simply cannot put a price on this publicity and the boost this will bring to our tourism operators," she said.

"To have the region showcased on national television over three days will be just the medicine needed to assist the tourism industry in the wake of the recent floods.

"I'm sure the cast and crew from Sunrise will enjoy their stay and the hospitality provided for them."
