Tiffiny Hall fights bullying
SHE inspired a nation of food lovers to kick their bad habits when she appeared on the Biggest Loser, but Tiffiny Hall was on a different mission when she spoke to Rockhampton school children yesterday.
The Taekwondo instructor turned author was at CQUniversity yesterday signing copies of her new book White Ninja and speaking to students about healthy living and the issues of bullying.
The critically acclaimed novel takes readers to the world of martial arts while promoting a positive lifestyle message.
Tiffiny said one of the main goals she hoped to achieve with her book was to target the issue of bullying at school by enhancing the reader's confidence.
"A lot of the people I have trained in Taekwondo over the years have wanted to learn because they have been bullied and want to defend themselves.
"But what they get as well as those self-defence skills is that extra confidence they need to fight off the problems they face mentally."
Tiffiny also offered advice to the students, from years 4 to 8, about how to improve their attitude to eating well and exercise.
"You have to find the right 'fit' for you - the type of exercise you love and doesn't feel like exercise at all.
"Some love gym, running, dance, group fitness. Whatever it is just make sure you are consistent and enjoy it."
