King threat returns as tides peak in region again

THE Hervey Bay foreshore will be tested again over the coming days as king tides are expected to hit the region.

Tides of 4.1m will hit Hervey Bay from Friday until Monday.

In January, water spilled over the foreshore and onto the Esplanade as winds whipped up a rough sea.

Following the king tides, the Fraser Coast Regional Council trucked in tonnes of sand to replenish the beaches.

Since January more than 1000 tonnes has sat next to Seafront Oval.

The 4m tides will hit on Friday morning at 7.56am, Saturday at 8.39am and Sunday at 9.20am.
