
Severe storms, power outages slams SEQ
THOUSANDS of southeast Queensland residents are without power as a line of severe storms pass through the area.
The weather bureau has warned a line of gusty thunderstorms are approaching Brisbane after damaging winds and rain have caused power outages on the Gold Coast.

As of 11.15am, Energex is reporting 14,789 southeast Queensland residents are without power because of trees on powerlines and other issues.
Severe storms are likely to affect residents in Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Brisbane City and parts of Somerset, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Redland City and Moreton Bay Council areas.
EARLIER: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of southeast Queensland this morning.
The weather bureau has warned areas from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast and west to Toowoomba are expected to be affected by damaging winds and severe storms over the next several hours.
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service has advised residents to move cars under cover and away from trees and to secure loose outdoor items.
