Toogoom rock wall approved at council meeting

THE Fraser Coast Regional Council approved an application for a 370m rock wall at Toogoom near Kingfisher Pde on Wednesday morning.

The council was the applicant for the project after it reached an agreement with the homeowners to act on their behalf earlier this year.

Fronting properties from 48 to 82 Kingfisher Pde, a council report revealed the seawall would be about 1m above the existing ground level and 10m from property boundaries on state-controlled land.

The seawall was needed to protect the homes against erosion.

The homeowners will pay for the wall through a special council loan as part of terms of the agreement.
