Two new support centres open on the Fraser Coast
FRASER Coast residents who need support during tough times will have two new purpose built facilities to call upon after they were officially opened on Tuesday
Uniting Care Communities recieved funding of more than $1 million under the Regional Development Australia Fund to enable construction at three community locations including Hervey Bay and Maryborough, as well as a third centre in Kingaroy.
Queensland Senator Claire Moore said the extended facilities at Hervey Bay and Maryborough would be used by more than 1,000 people each year.
"There are range of services that people just come to expect and Uniting care provides," she said.
"The extended facilities will better enable Uniting Care Community to meet the increasing needs of the region and greatly increase their training capacity."
The building extensions include a training centre, meeting room and several specialist counselling rooms.
All three projects have similar facilities and work totalled around $1.6 million.
