Urangan sea wall expected to be repaired by May

THE flood-damaged Urangan Sea Wall is expected to be fully repaired by May, with about 70% of the wall already repaired.

Fraser Coast Deputy Mayor Trevor McDonald said the repairs had suffered many delays thanks to continuing rain over the past two months.

The wall was inundated by high tides following ex-tropical cyclone Oswald in late January, causing severe damage to the wall and some nearby apartments.

Crews only began installing a new sea wall, made of concrete rather than bricks, in December last year.
