THE Berthelsens were not the only Fraser Coast pair to make a dash through a gauntlet of brightly coloured pamphlets in the past few days.

Scores of voters have taken advantage of the pre-poll voting booths across the region, keen to cast their vote during the week rather than give up a Saturday.

At the Hervey Bay Library on Tuesday, voters trickled through steadily but slowly.

This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.

At all times the more than dozen volunteers handing out "how to vote" cards outnumbered those going to cast a vote.

While hundreds of "how to vote" cards have already been handed out, some candidates for mayor are still waiting on printers.

Mayoral candidates Gerard O'Connell, Jannean Dean and Steven Coleman were among the candidates handing out material.

Greg Schmidt and Lee Carter, who are also running for mayor, did not have "how to vote" material at either Hervey Bay booths.

Pre-poll voting is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday at the Hervey Bay Library, Brolga Theatre, Tiaro Library and the electoral commission on Boat Harbour Drive.
