Wide Bay clubs offer support to The Waves' QPL bid

WIDE Bay's football clubs will throw its support behind The Waves' bid for a Queensland Premier League team.

The Bundaberg club was one of four clubs from Football Wide Bay to lodge an initial expression of interest in fielding a side in the expanded QPL and National Premier League competitions.

Stuart Taylor, who serves as both KSS Jets and Football Wide Bay president, said The Waves boasted a strong system with which it can be build a state league side.

"I haven't seen their application but they have the best systems and the capacity to deliver," Taylor said.

The Jets were one of the other clubs to signal their interest, while Football Bundaberg were believed to be the other two parties from our region.

Taylor said the Jets passed a resolution to support The Waves' bid.

It comes a month after Taylor said it was vital Wide Bay was represented when the new-look competitions launched, regardless of what part of Football Wide Bay's patch the successful came from.

"We'll encourage our members to trial for the side if its successful," Taylor said.
