Will the Buccaneers play in Bundy this weekend?

FOOTBALL: The Wide Bay Buccaneers match against Souths United could be postponed this weekend because of the weather.

The NewsMail has obtained a photo today showing just how flooded Martens Oval is after receiving more than 100mm of rain over the past 48 hours.

It is scheduled to host this weekend's Football Queensland Premier League match between the Buccaneers and South United on Saturday afternoon at 5pm.

But that now looks unlikely unless Martens Oval can drain out well over the next 36 hours.

The ground also has to deal with whatever rain falls in that time as well.

The games, including juniors that will also play at the same venue, have not officially been called off yet with Football Bundaberg president Femia Eizema confirming the news this morning.

She said the ground will be inspected tomorrow afternoon with a decision to be made after that to make sure the opposition has enough notice.

Eizema said decisions on other games to be held at Martens Oval including the NewsMail Cup, Sea FM Cup and the Ladies Knockout Cup will also be decided at that time.

More to come.
