Winney takes on UDIA presidency after seven resignations

PROMINENT Fraser Coast developer Glen Winney has stepped into the role of UDIA Fraser Coast president after seven resignations from the committee.

The Urban Development Institute of Australia Fraser Coast branch appointed Mr Winney president after town planner Ward Veitch resigned earlier this week.

Mr Winney said he had three main priorities.

"My top priority will be to ensure the development industry continues to work with council to extend the Infrastructure Incentive Scheme, which is due to end in February," he said.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council scheme gives investors significant discounts on eligible developments.

Mr Winney, who returns to the UDIA after a two-year break said he would ensure high standards of accountability and transparency as well as increasing information for members of the institute.

Any UDIA member interested in nominating for the Fraser Coast executive committee should phone Anna Cox on 3233 2718.
