Wolves ladies battle hard in loss to Rovers

FOOTBALL: The Warwick Wolves ladies battled hard against the Rockville Rovers on Sunday, but couldn’t walk away with the win.

It was a tough game for the Warwick women’s side, with two players injured during the hard fought match.

Warwick led at half team, with Elise Wyvill scoring from a penalty shot during the first half.

But the Rovers fought back in the second half, putting away two goals to win the match.

The Wolves have had a good season so far, with eight wins from 11 games.

The team currently sits in third spot on the ladder, three points behind Willowburn and Rockville.

On Sunday the Wolves will play the seventh placed USQ side at Harristown.

The run to the finish line looks strong for the Wolves, who will play three of the bottom five teams in the next five rounds.

They will face a challenge in three weeks time when they take on top of the table team Willowburn.
