RSL finds great addition to war memorabilia collection

A WOMAN'S army uniform from the Second World War has been given to the Hervey Bay RSL, after the Endeavour Foundation found it among items of clothing that had been donated to the charity.

Hervey Bay Sub-Branch president John Kelsey said the uniform was a welcome addition to the RSL's collection and it will go on display at the club ahead of Anzac Day commemorations later this month.

Mr Kelsey said the uniform, which was believed to have belonged to a woman who would have been part of a signals division, was in pristine condition.

Endeavour Foundation Pialba store manager Chris Spink said it was unknown who had donated the uniform but she felt it must have been part of a clean out of a deceased estate.

She encouraged anyone who might know anything about where the uniform came from to come forward.

Mr Kelsey agreed, saying it would be good to have a story to go with the uniform.
