Women empowered through Hervey Bay View Club
HERVEY Bay View Club celebrated a successful 2013, supporting the work of the Smith Family charity.
View empowers women through its voice, interests and education of women and provides support and friendship for women throughout communities nationally.
View also actively raises awareness of and participates in the work of the Smith Family.
There are just on 20,000 members belonging to more than 350 VIEW clubs throughout Australia who raised more than $1million to support 1000 children in need.
Hervey Bay members meet monthly on the second Monday of the month at the Hervey Bay Golf Club and Bev Cornwall said there was often an interesting guest speaker followed by lunch.
"The fourth Monday of each month is a social day at various venues and these days are full of fun, games and quizzes," she said.
Husbands, partners and friends are also welcome to attend the events.
"Our club is not all fun and games, we work very hard during the year to raise funds for the Smith Family and for our learning for life student Brittany Lea," Bev said.
"View is unique in that it is the only national women's organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for young disadvantaged Australians in need.
"Another important project that our club supports is the Pyjama Foundation where members can either make or purchase pyjamas for children of all ages who do not have the luxury of a pair of pyjamas to sleep in."
