World War II grenade detonated in Maryborough
A GRENADE from World War II had to be detonated after it was recovered from the Mary River.
A police spokesman said the grenade was found when a business was dredging part of the river in Maryborough.
It is believed the grenade was recovered on Monday.
The area was placed in lock-down and a team from the Australian Defence Force was called in to do a controlled detonation.
